The Nantong leg of the "Praising for the New Era — Yangtze River Delta Region Calligraphy and Painting Invitational Exhibition" recently opened its doors to the public at the culture and arts center in Chongchuan district, featuring exquisite works by 120 calligraphers and painters from Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui. 

The Yangtze River Delta Region Calligraphy and Painting Invitational Exhibition is jointly initiated by the literary federations of Putuo district of Shanghai, Nantong city of Jiangsu province, Jiaxing city of Zhejiang province, and Xuancheng city of Anhui province in 2023. It has now become an important platform for cultural exchange and artistic collaboration in the Yangtze River Delta region. 

This year's exhibition centres on two major themes: the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, and the 20th anniversary of the proposal of the Red Boat spirit. 

The inaugural leg, which launched on Sept 2 at Jiaxing Art Museum, received widespread acclaim. As the second venue, the Nantong leg further expanded the exhibition's ideological depth and artistic expressiveness through diverse presentation formats. 

The Nantong exhibition is set to run until Oct 24. During the exhibition period, the literary federations of the four places will also hold a special symposium to promote regional cultural coordinated development and artistic creation exchange.
