Chongchuan sees tourism boom during holiday

During the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday from Oct 1 to 8, Chongchuan district in Nantong received 2.23 million tourists, generating a total tourism revenue of 2.1 billion yuan ($294.59 million), year-on-year increases of 21.6 percent and 19.3percent, respectively.
Notably, the knockout match of the Jiangsu Football City League between Nantong and Huai'an was held in Nantong on Oct 7 at Nantong Sports Convention and Exhibition Center in Chongchuan, attracting a large number of visitors from within and outside the province for sports tourism. On that day, the district saw year-on-year increases in tourist numbers and tourism revenue of 42.1 percent and 34 percent, respectively.
During the holiday, Nantong Forest Safari Park and Sendi Ice and Snow Park set new records for single-day visitor traffic, while the recently renovated Sijie historical and cultural block also attracted a large number of tourists.
Consumption was equally vibrant. Retail, dining, and cinemas all experienced peaks in consumer activities, with themed markets and promotional events adding to the excitement. The district's 26 key monitored enterprises achieved sales of 570 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.3 percent, with a customer flow of 2.93 million, up 7.5 percent.
