The Topu Micro-Short Drama Production Base was established in the Haimen High-tech Industrial Development Zone on Sept 2, marking a significant step forward for Nantong's Haimen district in promoting the high-quality development of the cultural industry and creating a new regional cultural landmark.

The base is operated by Chiwu Film and Television (Nantong) Co and located in Topu Science City, with a total investment of 150 million yuan ($21.03 million). The first phase covers approximately 7,000 square meters, featuring 20 specialized shooting scenes, with an annual production capacity of at least 100 short dramas.

Leveraging Topu's unique cultural heritage and geographical advantages, the base features a comprehensive hub for micro-short drama creation, production, talent cultivation, industrial incubation, and cultural tourism experiences.

By fostering a distinctive film and cultural atmosphere, the base aims to attract high-quality production teams, creative professionals, and tourists, leading to the formation of an industrial cluster, combining culture and tourism, and elevating the regional brand.

As a rapidly emerging industry in recent years, short dramas have become a vital part of the cultural industry and digital economy. The Topu Micro-Short Drama Production Base is a key initiative in Haimen's efforts to strategically expand into new business sectors, further enhancing regional cultural soft power and promoting the coordinated development of cultural and tourism industries.
