Haimen achieves 5.8% GDP growth in H1

In the first half of 2025, Haimen's economy demonstrated robust resilience and vitality, achieving a regional GDP of 92.55 billion yuan with a year-on-year growth of 5.8 percent, surpassing the provincial average and maintaining a stable, progressive, and innovation-driven development trend.

Project construction gained momentum with 41 major new projects signed, including 30 domestic projects each exceeding 500 million yuan.

Thirty-two industrial projects valued over 100 million yuan commenced construction, completing investments totaling 4.81 billion yuan. Progress remained smooth for five provincial-level and 43 municipal-level key projects, achieving an 86.8 percent commencement rate.

Industrial upgrading accelerated as the added value of industries above designated size grew by 8.1 percent. The number of enterprises with sales exceeding 100 million yuan reached 103, while five new provincial-level specialized and sophisticated small and medium-sized enterprises were added.

The service sector generated 45.18 billion yuan in sales, growing by 5.4 percent, contributing to Nantong's designation as a national logistics hub for port cities. Both the construction and modern agriculture sectors showed steady development.

Residents saw a consistent rise in their incomes, with per capita disposable income increasing by 5.3 percent overall. Rural residents experienced faster income growth at 5.6 percent.

Haimen aims to continue stabilizing employment and markets to consolidate its economic growth trajectory.
