Rudong enterprises shine at 137th Canton Fair
The first phase of the 137th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) recently concluded. Fifteen enterprises from Rudong county showcased their products across 21 booths, making significant gains in sectors such as hardware, tools, and general machinery.
Among the standout exhibitors was Rudong Chain Works, whose flagship product—Grade 100 high-strength chains—emerged as a star attraction. "Crafted with precision and made of special alloy steel, this chain boasts a load-bearing capacity 350 percent higher than that of standard chains and performs reliably in extreme temperatures," said Ma Dongbo, the company's deputy general manager.
As a veteran of the Canton Fair since the early 1990s, Rudong Chain Works has participated in over 70 editions. This year, the company presented over 200 chains. According to Ma, more than 40 new business contacts were made during the fair, with deals exceeding $5 million. Five buyers scheduled on-site visits to the company to explore potential long-term cooperation.
Phase II of the Canton Fair is now underway, featuring three Rudong-based companies across six booths. They are showcasing a variety of high-quality home goods and decorative items.
Nantong Yuanmengxin Home Textiles drew attention with its full range of bedding products, including quilts, sheet sets, and blankets. Its competitive pricing appealed to a wide range of markets. One Australian buyer placed an immediate order for four containers of its newly launched silk series, totaling over $100,000. The two sides are now finalizing contracts and logistics arrangements.
Looking ahead, 28 Rudong companies are set to participate in the third phase of the event from May 1 to 5. Among them is Nantong Tianlong Sporting Goods, which will be making its debut at the fair and is eager to present over 70 products and establish new international partnerships.
