A batch of frozen vegetables, including tatsoi, sweet peas, edamame, and green beans, produced by Zhonggao Agricultural Products Supply Chain, has passed inspection by Rugao Customs and is set to be shipped overseas.

Frozen vegetables are a key export for Rugao's agricultural sector. "Since the beginning of this year, our frozen vegetable exports have reached nearly 305 metric tons, a 414.6 percent increase compared to the same period last year," said Xie Yuhong, head of the company's production department.

To help local frozen vegetable producers expand into international markets, Rugao Customs has leveraged its technical expertise by forming an expert team specializing in export food supervision.

The team guides legal and safety standards in different trade regions, helps companies establish pesticide management and pest control mechanisms, and ensures strict hygiene control from farm to production to export.

Additionally, Rugao Customs assists enterprises in setting sorting standards for raw materials and adopting new freezing technologies to enhance efficiency and product quality.

"The improved customs clearance speed has also ensured the freshness and safety of our products, earning praise from international customers," Xie added. To facilitate smooth exports, Rugao Customs has implemented a "green channel", offering streamlined processes such as online inspection appointments and fast-track document issuance.

From January to February, Rugao's vegetable exports totaled 327.14 tons, marking a 238 percent year-on-year increase.
