Nantong's foreign trade bounces to recovery

The foreign trade of Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province expanded by 10.8 percent year-on-year in the first 10 months of this year to 318.42 billion yuan ($43.99 billion), statistics from Nantong Customs showed.
In October alone, the city's imports and exports reached a record 32.46 billion yuan, up 9.4 percent from the previous year and achieving an increase for four consecutive years.
Since July, Nantong's monthly foreign trade value has consistently remained above 300 billion yuan, demonstrating the strong resilience and ample momentum of its foreign trade industry.
Data from Nantong Customs shows that the overall operational trend of the city's leading industries is positive, with a significant increase in the export of advantageous products.
In October, the export of labor-intensive products in Nantong reached 54.9 billion yuan, an increase of 9.8 percent, marking a new high in growth rate in nearly five months.
With the global maritime shipping market recovering, the container industry is quickly rebounding. Container exports in the city reached 1.38 billion yuan, hitting a new high in nearly 25 months, with a growth of 52.8 percent.
In terms of imports, Nantong showed strong momentum in the import of production-related goods, with rapid growth in raw materials, components, and equipment. In October, the natural gas imports in the city reached 2.76 billion yuan.
