The 2024 Nantong Science and Technology Industry Collaborative Innovation Season raised its curtain at the Nantong International Conference Center in Jiangsu province on Nov 16.
The event was attended by over 800 domestic and overseas academicians, university professors, and representatives from technology enterprises.
Zhang Tong, mayor of Nantong, introduced the city's economic and social development with its four calling cards – a national innovation city, China's modern industrial city, a maritime city featuring river and sea, and a national comprehensive transportation hub city.
She expects more support from universities and research institutes for the city's innovative development, more enterprises to build a presence, and more investment institutions to invest in the city.
During the conference, the Nantong municipal government and Southeast University launched the pre-research project for the polar and extreme environment simulation experimental facility. The Institute for Advanced Study of Yangtze River Delta of Harbin Engineering University and Yangtze River Delta Integrated Circuit Advanced Sealing and Testing Innovation Consortium were also inaugurated on the same day.
Rupert Hoogewerf, chairman and chief researcher of Hurun Report, interpreted the Hurun China Under 35s 2024 list at the conference, aiming to find young business elites under 35 who have made significant contributions to economic progress.
Other clean energy, life sciences, and integrated circuits activities will be held in local districts and counties.
