Nantong in Jiangsu province hosted a conference in Shanghai on Oct 16 to promote collaboration with Shanghai in the digital cultural industry.
In recent years, the city has vigorously promoted structural reforms in the cultural sector, implementing a three-year action plan for the prosperous development of its digital cultural industry.
The city is actively guiding capital, groundbreaking technologies, and outstanding talents to converge in the digital cultural field, accelerating the formation of a digital cultural industry development system with Nantong characteristics.
As a result, new businesses such as Magic Pen Animation and DDT esports club have successively landed in Nantong, and the number of cultural enterprises above designated size in the city has now exceeded 200, with the cultural industry's added value reaching 62.1 billion yuan ($8.72 billion) in 2023, emerging as the city's crucial pillar industry.
Moving forward, Nantong will provide more precise policies and convenient services to fully support entrepreneurs investing and starting businesses in the city. This will better serve the cross-regional collaboration and high-quality development of cultural industries between Shanghai and Nantong.
During the event, a presentation on the development environment of Nantong's digital cultural industry was conducted and 36 digital cultural projects were secured, along with the signing of the Chongchuan District Digital Culture Special Fund agreement.
