Four hundred and seven enterprises in Nantong, Jiangsu province, are set to participate in the upcoming 136th session of the China Import and Export Fair, popularly known as the Canton Fair.

These enterprises are expected to set up 639 booths at 41 exhibition areas, ranking third in the province. They are mainly distributed in the exhibition areas, where electronic and electrical products, household appliances, hardware, building and decoration materials, kitchen utensils, and others are displayed.

The fair is scheduled to take place in Guangzhou in three phases between Oct 15 and Nov 4 and is set to include 55 exhibition areas covering 1.55 million square meters.

The upcoming session will feature a display of approximately 390,000 digital and smart products, representing a 300 percent increase from the 135th Canton Fair. Moreover, the quantity of green and low-carbon products is set to rise 130 percent compared to the previous session.

Launched in 1957 and held twice yearly, the Canton Fair is considered a major gauge of China's foreign trade.
