Professor Wang Rongrong from the School of Mechanical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University has led her team to establish Jiangsu Yinguan Intelligent Technology initiative in the Rugao High-Tech Zone.
The company has committed an investment of 500 million yuan ($71.3 million) to develop a distributed drive chassis project, with the goal of scaling up prototype production. Phase one of the project is expected to cover 3.2 hectares and, once operational, is projected to reach an annual capacity of 5,000 steer-by-wire chassis and 10,000 all-terrain vehicles.
The Rugao High-Tech Zone has been actively collaborating with Shanghai Jiao Tong University for the past two years, creating an innovation model based on joint incubation and local transformation.
Rugao government has provided comprehensive support to ensure smooth project development. Professor Wang praised the business environment in Rugao, highlighting the efficient handling of operations and the dedicated support from local authorities.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, the company unveiled its new all-terrain single-soldier touring platform. The platform allows for both standing and seated driving and can be expanded with a motorized trailer to carry cargo and extend range. The trailer can support up to 200kg and features robust power, high mobility, and extensive adaptability, making it suitable for agriculture, recreation, and urban commuting.
