Since Dec 2021, Hai'an has developed two medical community networks under the leadership of the Hai'an People's Hospital and the Hai'an Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Hospital. These networks now include all county-level public hospitals, community health service centers, and a private hospital in the city.
Over the past two years, the integration of personnel, technology, services, and management within these networks has enhanced medical services. In the first half of this year alone, experts from the leading hospitals were dispatched 890 times to local health centers, treating over 3,200 patients and performing nearly 70 demonstration surgeries.
For instance, a gastroenterology specialist from the People's Hospital assisted the Duntou town health center in advancing its gastroenterology services, leading to 191 standard endoscopic procedures and 61 painless endoscopic procedures in the first half of the year. Likewise, TCM Hospital obstetrics and gynecology expert Huang Aihong treated over 1,300 patients and performed more than 80 cervical radiofrequency ablation surgeries at the Baitian town health center.
Additionally, the leading hospitals have worked on improving business management at county and community-level hospitals by conducting prescription evaluations, medical order reviews, and case audits. They have also focused on cultivating technical talent through training sessions on rational drug use, clinical diagnosis and treatment, and public health management.
