Nantong Art Museum showcases contemporary takes on classic paintings

The Nantong Art Museum in Jiangsu is offering a traveling exhibition titled Return to Original Intention: Exhibition of Copies of Classical Works by Famous Contemporary Chinese Painting Masters.
The exhibition has invited 64 renowned contemporary Chinese painters to imitate and create works of art based on classic paintings, showcasing their understanding of traditional Chinese culture.

The works have not only preserved the essence of traditional Chinese paintings, but also incorporated contemporary art elements.
The exhibition will run until May 12.
Designed by renowned French architect Paul Andreu (1938-2018), Nantong Art Museum contains 21 galleries and its exterior resembles a magic art box.
