Haimen district in Nantong, Jiangsu province held an economic and trade investment fair on April 29.

More than 300 representatives of industry-leading enterprises from across the country attended the event.

The event gave business people from domestic and abroad a better understanding of the district's business environment and industrial strengths, noted Huang Jianhui, director of the Haimen Investment Service Center.

Huang added that authorities have been focusing on attracting investment related to the district's existing industrial chains spanning new-generation information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy, and new materials.

Thirty-eight projects with a combined investment of more than 30 billion yuan ($4.16 billion) were secured during the event.

The district is currently home to 339 high-tech enterprises, 82 provincial little giants, and 15 national little giants.
