Five hundred unmanned delivery vehicles from STO Express commenced their duties in Rugao, Nantong, Jiangsu province on April 12, following pre-set routes to deliver parcels.

According to the head of STO's Rugao division, each vehicle can accommodate about 800 parcels and boasts a range of 180 kilometers. They are able to make about four round trips between the processing center and distribution outlets each day. This innovation is expected to significantly enhance delivery efficiency and contribute to cost reduction for the express delivery industry.

Rugao is currently making organized efforts to advance infrastructure such as vehicle-road coordination, communication networks, and data management service platforms. These initiatives aim to facilitate the large-scale deployment of intelligent connected vehicles and promote the rapid development of the distribution industry.
