Haimen's new-generation information technology sector receives boost
Representatives of Shanghai-based Nanya New Material Technology Co on March 27 signed an agreement to build a high-end electronic circuit substrate base in Haimen district, Nantong, Jiangsu province.
The facility, which will cost 1.2 billion yuan ($166.04 million) to build, is expected to be engaged in high-end IC substrate material and high-end copper-clad laminate production.
Nanya is a national “little giant" enterprise, with products widely applied in consumer electronics, computers, communications, automotive electronics, aerospace, industrial control, and other terminal fields.
Shanghai Xingnan Electronic Science and Technology Co, a subsidiary of Nanya, also inked a deal to establish a 200-million-yuan new type film material production line in Haimen during the signing ceremony.
The two projects will infuse great vitality into Haimen's new-generation information technology industry, which is crucial to fostering the new quality productive forces, noted a local official.
Haimen has in recent years been implementing a series of measures, including setting up special funds, forming talent groups, and creating scientific and technological platforms.
This effort has led to the establishment of a circuit research center, an information industrial park, and the presence of industry-leading companies such as Maxwell Chip and Xinwen Cloud.
