Chongchuan district in Nantong, Jiangsu province, has been rapidly constructing new energy vehicle charging stations. Since the beginning of this year, a total of 25 new charging stations with 131 charging poles have been completed across the district.

To further drive the construction of charging stations in the region, Chongchuan issued a pilot program in November of last year outlining plans to accelerate the planning, deployment, and construction of new energy vehicle charging poles in seven types of locations.

Tangzha Primary School became the first school in the district to complete the construction of new energy charging poles, with plans for them to be operational by the end of March. Additionally, Xindong residential community has added 12 new slow-charging poles to newly constructed parking spaces this year, providing convenience to surrounding residents.

Aside from the convenience, the charging fees are also set at reasonable rates. "Based on household electricity charges, a service fee of 0.4 yuan ($0.06) per kilowatt-hour is added to the household electricity fee," said a relevant staff member.

"We plan to complete 90 charging stations with 600 charging poles by the end of 2024," an official from the Chongchuan greening management bureau said.
