The water authority of Tongzhou district in Nantong, Jiangsu province has been actively promoting water conservation initiatives and offering proactive services to assist businesses in their water-saving endeavors.

Among the notable beneficiaries is Jiangsu Hengke Advanced Materials Co Ltd, which consumes about 7 million metric tons of water annually and incurs a water resource fee cost of around 2.1 million yuan ($293,905).

Under the guidance of the Tongzhou water authority, Hengke established a water-saving management team and instituted a robust water management system, effectively facilitating the implementation of water-saving modifications.

As part of its efforts, Hengke is constructing a wastewater recycling system for its third phase project. The system collects all workshop wastewater, treats it categorically, and repurposes it. The recycling rate of the system exceeds 80 percent.

Thanks to these concerted water conservation measures, Hengke was recognized as a provincial-level water-saving enterprise. Since October, the company has benefited from a 20-percent reduction in its water resource fees.
