Thousand Oaks Biopharmaceuticals (Nantong) Co in Haimen district, Nantong, Jiangsu province was shortlisted as a provincial unicorn enterprise again, the Productivity Center of Jiangsu Province announced on Nov 24.

Thousand Oaks was selected as a Jiangsu unicorn enterprise for the first time last year and as a Chinese unicorn enterprise in June this year.

The company specializes in the Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) of macromolecular proteins, providing one-stop Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Control (CMC) services from candidate molecules to clinical and commercial production.

Since its establishment in 2017, Thousand Oaks has been successively awarded titles such as Jiangsu Province Unicorn Enterprise, Jiangsu Province Specialized and Innovative Small Giant, Jiangsu Province Private Technology Enterprise, and Nantong High-quality Development Leading Enterprise.

The phrase unicorn enterprises refers to high-growth innovative companies that were established within the last 10 years, have a valuation exceeding $1 billion, have received private investment, and are not yet listed.

They serve as a compass for the development of the new economy. These companies possess original core technologies, innovative products or services, and disruptive business models, and also exhibit rapid growth and significant development potential.
