The Hai'an Economic and Technological Development Zone, located in the northernmost part of Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, recently secured a spot on the 2023 list of provincial "Internet + Advanced Manufacturing" characteristic industrial bases, making it the sole representative from the city.

Covering an expansive area of 180 square kilometers, the zone boasts an industrial output value of nearly 1 trillion yuan ($139.44 billion), with close to 400 large-scale manufacturing enterprises operating within its jurisdiction.

The zone has steadfastly pursued the integration of digital technology, emphasizing the synergy of data and reality through initiatives like intelligent transformation, digital conversion, and network collaboration.

The zone is currently home to 1,100 enterprises with secondary-level industrial internet identifiers and over 400 companies that have undergone smart manufacturing assessments. It has also provided complimentary diagnostic services for more than 150 enterprises in the regulated size category.

In addition, the zone has secured approval for 20 enterprises as provincial-level pilot demonstration units for the integration of informatization and industrialization, along with seven provincial-level intelligent workshops. Moreover, 38 companies in the zone have achieved certification under the national dual integration management system.

Looking forward, the zone will remain committed to accelerating the development of industrial digitization. The goal is to become a national leader in the integration and application of "5G + Industrial Internet".
