Qidong girl wins bronze in women's team epee at Hangzhou Asiad

The Chinese team, composed of Qidong girl Xu Nuo and her teammates Sun Yiwen, Shi Yuexin, and Tang Junyao, won bronze at the final of the women's team epee at the 19th Asian Games on Sept 27.
Xu Nuo, born in Qidong in 1998, has shown athletic talent since childhood.
Xu first started fencing at Nantong Sports School in 2010. Her coach, Wu Juan, said she had a strong sense of rhythm with swords, which made her stand out in fencing.
Xu Nuo participated in two events at this Asian Games: women's individual epee and women's team epee.
Xu, as a rising star in Chinese fencing, has won many gold medals and awards in various competitions. In 2017, she won the team championship in women's epee at the Asian Fencing Championships. She and three teammates finished as team runners-up at the 2022 FIE Women's Epee World Cup in Poland.
In 2023, she achieved even more honors. She won the team epee bronze medal at the International Fencing Federation Women's Epee World Cup in Barcelona. She also won the women's individual epee championship at the 2023 National Fencing Championship. In addition, she and her teammates won the women's epee team gold medal at the Chengdu FISU World University Games on Aug 5.
