Hai'an approved to become national demonstration county for rural revitalization
Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has been chosen as the only county in Nantong to be part of the 2023 National Rural Revitalization Demonstration County initiative.
This recognition highlights the county's dedication to rural revitalization.
With a rich history in agricultural development and abundant cultural and tourism attractions, Hai'an has long been celebrated as the land of fish and rice.
In recent years, the county has focused on transforming and upgrading traditional industries, driving high-quality rural revitalization.
Hai'an is currently home to six villages with nationally recognized agricultural products, one national-level village that has a characteristic industry with an annual output value exceeding 100 million yuan ($13.78 million), and four national-level leading agricultural enterprises.
Additionally, the county has obtained approval for the establishment of a national modern agricultural industrial park and has been recognized as a provincial pioneer in integrating the development of the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries in rural areas.
Moving forward, Hai'an will focus on six key areas, including increasing grain production capacity and developing and improving the industrial chain to shape a unique and thriving rural revitalization development model.
