The China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) recently released the list of special experts for the CAST's HOME Program. Dr Zhang Xinfeng, founder of Jiangsu Zorrun Semiconductor Co Ltd in Rugao, Nantong, Jiangsu province, made the list.

The HOME Program - Help Our Motherland through Elite Intellectual Resources from Overseas – was jointly initiated by 35 overseas science and technology organizations of the CAST and launched in 2004.

It aims to strengthen ties with overseas Chinese science and technology organizations, fully utilize overseas talent, and carry out academic exchanges, project cooperation, technical consultation introduction, special inspections, and other activities to build a platform for overseas talent to serve the country and contribute to economic and social development.

Zhang Xinfeng served as an evaluation expert for the Ministry of Education's Yangtze River Scholar Award Program, an evaluation expert for the Ministry of Science and Technology's foreign expert project, and an professor at Jiangsu University.

Under his leadership, the company has focused on the research, development, production, and manufacturing of wide-bandgap semiconductor crystal materials and related equipment. It has independent intellectual property rights in SiC substrate material preparation and core technologies in chip design.

The independently developed MPCVD diamond crystal growth furnace has broken the foreign technical blockade on China's semiconductor industry.

Zhang said that in the future, he will focus on equipment and material advantages, involving SiC discrete devices, SiC IGBT modules, and other downstream process businesses. He is committed to improving the research and development capabilities of wide-bandgap semiconductor equipment and materials to create an entire industrial chain model.
