The construction of M026 MERO 4 floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, which was carried out by Qidong Cosco Marine Engineering Co Ltd, was completed on the morning of July 1.
The vessel has a main body length of 335.31 meters, a moulded length of 328.2 meters, a moulded width of 60 meters, and a moulded depth of 33.51 meters. It is designed to produce 180,000 barrels of oil per day and process 12 million standard cubic meters of natural gas and has a water injection capacity of 250,000 barrels per day and a maximum storage capacity of 1.4 million barrels of crude oil.
It is currently the offshore floating production storage and offloading device with the world's largest tonnage and largest oil storage capacity.
The construction of the vessel was the first cooperation project between Qidong Cosco Marine Engineering Co Ltd and SBM Offshore, a world-class general contracting operator.
Qidong Cosco Marine Engineering Co Ltd was responsible for the design, construction and overall assembly and commissioning of the vessel's 15 upper modules. The vessel will be used for oil and gas development operations in waters about 1,900 meters deep and can simultaneously connect to 15 oil wells to carry out oil and gas development operations.
