Nantong receives 1.56m visitors during Dragon Boat Festival holiday

Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province received more than 1.56 million visitors during the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday which ended on June 24, up 138.7 percent from last year.
The city generated 1.62 billion yuan ($225.66 million) in tourism revenue during the holiday, a year-on-year increase of 135.1 percent.

Before the holiday, a tourism consumption promotion season kicked off in the city, which unveiled a series of activities to entertain visitors during the summer.
Local tourist attractions also rolled out different activities to celebrate the holiday.
The Haohe River scenic area arranged a dragon boat race for parents and children, Langshan Mountain National Forest Park invited tourists to wear sachets and five-color ropes, eat zongzi, and take boat trips, while Nantong Forest Safari Park extended opening hours to 9 pm and organized activities including drone shows and light shows.

Numerous tourists also visited Sendi Snow Park, Xiaoyangkou Resort, Yuantuojiao Resort, and Zhouji Green Expo Park for a different holiday.
Cultural facilities were also popular among residents of Nantong with 88 exhibitions and different plays including Alice's Adventures in Wonderland available to them during the three-day holiday.
