The resort has also been dubbed the "home of hot springs" in China. It is the fourth resort in the province and the first in Nantong to receive such an honor.

The hot springs were first discovered in July 2005. There are four types of hot springs in the resort, with temperatures based on 42 degrees Celsius, 76 C, 82 C, and 92 C, respectively, and 1,900 to 3,506 cubic meters of water flows from a single spring per day.

The Xiaoyangkou Resort was also named the best destination for cultural and ecological tourism in China and one of the country's top 10 low-carbon and leisure demonstration facilities.
