Hai'an steps up efforts to develop robotic, intelligent manufacturing industries
Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, Jiangsu province, has strengthened efforts to advance the robotics and intelligent manufacturing industries in recent years.
Establishing the Hai'an Robot and Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park is an effort by the county to promote the development of this industry.
The park has been recognized as a national-level science and technology incubator and has attracted more than 300 companies, including two single-product champions in manufacturing, one national-level "little giant" enterprise, and six provincial-level little giant enterprises.
In 2022, the park's sales revenue exceeded 2 billion yuan ($278.03 million).
In addition, the recently unveiled Hai'an Robot and Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial College will establish a training base for robotic and intelligent manufacturing.
The college will provide professional training in robotic and intelligent manufacturing and serve as a platform for supporting the digital and intelligent development of manufacturing in the county.
The Hai'an Science and Technology Service Center, a key supporting facility of the park, will also be delivered and will include a science and technology exhibition hall, a high-end hotel, and talent apartments.
With its comprehensive supporting facilities, the park has attracted many high-profile talents, including over 30 with doctoral degrees.
In addition, the Hai'an municipal government has introduced relevant policies to support the development of the robot industry.
For example, it has set up an industrial development fund worth 100 million yuan to provide incentives and subsidies for production equipment purchased by local robotics enterprises.
