Pingchao town, Jinsha subdistrict, and Shigang town in Tongzhou district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, are promoting the construction of industrial parks to facilitate industrial development in Tongzhou.

Pingchao, which was previously an industrial hub that focused on traditional industries, has sped up its industrial transformation, relying on the massive improvements to the transportation network in recent years.

"The rapid development of transportation has improved not only the town's interconnectedness, but also its development strategies," said Zhang Weizhong, Party secretary of the town.

The town currently focuses on modern service, electronic components, and equipment manufacturing and is planning to build or improve industrial clusters for these industries.

Last year, the town signed contracts with seven industrial projects, with an investment of at least 100 million yuan ($13.98 million) each.

In Jinsha subdistrict, a production facility for new-energy-vehicle auto parts is under construction. The annual taxable turnover of the facility is expected to reach 80 million yuan.

In addition, the construction of an industrial hub that spans 251.7 hectares is also underway in the subdistrict.

The hub is aimed at attracting enterprises related to auto parts, new-generation information technology, and equipment manufacturing.

To date, the hub has attracted two projects worth 1 billion yuan and 500 million yuan, respectively.

Shigang town is also actively developing an industrial development hub that focuses on intelligent equipment manufacturing and new materials.

Additionally, the town this year has also launched a series of activities to improve its business environment and introduce new projects.

At present, six projects worth at least 100 million yuan each are under construction, while five projects are expected to start production this year.

According to local authorities, the town is currently home to about 300 enterprises related to mechanical equipment, high-end textiles, new materials, medical devices, and food processing.
