Air quality in Rudong sees steady improvement
Air quality in Rudong county, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province has shown a steady improvement in recent years, making it a highlight of ecological civilization construction in the county.
Last year, the annual average of PM2.5 in Rudong was 23.1 micrograms per cubic meter, a year-on-year improvement of 4.6 percent, and still the second-best position in the province.
The significant improvement in air quality is the result of continuous efforts by the Rudong ecology and environment bureau in supervising local businesses to carry out or improve waste gas treatment.
The county is currently home to more than 700 air-related enterprises that operate in industries such as chemical engineering, pharmaceuticals, dipping gloves, new materials, and industrial coating.
To help these enterprises improve the efficiency of waste gas facilities, the bureau has provided on-site guidance and invited qualified third-party units to provide solutions.
Honghan Protective Technology Nantong Co Ltd is one of the local enterprises that have benefited from services provided by the bureau.
At present, there are almost no data available for unregulated emission monitoring around the company area.
Going forward, the county will accelerate the low carbon transformation of industries and continue to improve the air quality in the county, according to the bureau.
