The Luoyang-Nantong Calligraphy Exchange Exhibition is currently being held at the Nantong Art Museum, East China's Jiangsu province, featuring over 100 artworks by calligraphers from both cities.

The exhibition is aimed at strengthening exchange and learning among calligraphers and promoting the improvement of calligraphy in both cities.

Both Luoyang, Henan province, and Nantong, Jiangsu province are renowned for their historical and cultural significance and rich cultural heritage.

Luoyang is deeply rooted in the Heluo culture, while Nantong is known for its association with the Jiangnan culture.

Influenced by the two cultures, the artistic expression of calligraphers in the two cities are quite different.

For example, the majority of exhibited works from Luoyang feature lishu (clerical script) calligraphy, while those from Nantong consists of xingshu (running script) and caoshu (cursive script).

Following a successful calligraphy exchange exhibition held in Luoyang on April 13, this exhibition in Nantong serves as another platform for interactive calligraphy exchanges between the two cities.

Heluo culture is considered to be a major influential part of Chinese culture and centers around Luoyang, while Jiangnan culture refers to that of the regions located south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
