An art exhibition featuring works by artists from Rudong county in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, kicked off at the Rudong county culture center on May 22.

The exhibition featured 57 exquisite artworks created by 10 distinguished artists, including various art forms such as traditional Chinese painting, modern ink painting, oil painting, printmaking, contemporary calligraphy, and installation art.

Chen Huiyu, Party secretary of Rudong, said during the opening ceremony that the exhibition not only presented the achievements of Rudong's renowned artists but also served as a splendid showcase of the county's culture and charm.

Cong Zhiyuan, a lifelong professor at William Paterson University in the United States, is one of the artists participating in the exhibition, during which six of his artworks were showcased.

He said that he is responsible for making efforts to foster artistic talent in his hometown Rudong, which is the source of his artistic inspiration.

During the exhibition, he and another artist, Ding Jie, held an art class in the exhibition hall for students from a local primary school.

On the same day, the organizers also held an art salon, in which Rudong's renowned artists discussed and shared their techniques for creating artistic masterpieces with local artists.

The exhibition will also take place at the Jiangsu Art Museum in Nanjing from May 23 to May 28.
