Geng Yuhua, an entrepreneur from Tongzhou district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province was honored with the "Zhang Jian Cup" Outstanding Entrepreneur award at the fifth Nantong Entrepreneurs Convention and Nantong Private Economy Convention on May 21.

As the chairman of Nantong Si Jian Construction Group Co Ltd in Tongzhou, Geng has led the company to win the Lu Ban Prize, a top construction award in China, more than 30 times.

As of the end of March, Si Jian has won 20 National Quality Engineering Awards, seven Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prizes, and over 1,000 honors at the provincial-level or higher.

Geng said at the convention that traditional industries such as the construction and textile industries in Nantong should persist in boosting innovation and regard new technology as the main driving force for their development.

He also pointed out that entrepreneurs in Nantong should actively participate in the programs for the public good and undertake social responsibility.

At the convention, Si Jian was honored with the "Outstanding Enterprise for Social Contribution" by the CPC Nantong Municipal Committee and Nantong Municipal Government.
