International Museum Day this year is themed on Museums, Sustainability, and Wellbeing. Therefore, the Nantong Museum has cooperated with the Nantong-style Furniture Museum to offer a Nantong-style furniture exhibition from May 18 to June 18.

The exhibition is divided into three parts.

The first part exhibits the furniture made in ancient times, the second part displays the works of today's craftsmen and showcases the inheritance of ancient craft, and the third part reveals the development and innovation of the traditional craft by showing the innovative works that more fully satisfy the aesthetic taste and life style of modern people.

The most notable feature of Nantong-style furniture is its abstract dragon patterns. The furniture also features natural changes in thickness and smooth curves. These are the main reasons why so many people like collecting Nantong-style furniture.

After hundreds of years, Nantong-style furniture has not only become part of local residents' lives, but also a role model of classic Chinese-style furniture.
