The 2023 National Boutique Bonsai Exhibition and Bonsai Trade Conference opened in the Rugao International Horticultural City in Rugao, a county-level city of Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on April 26.

The event will last for seven days.

More than 300 bonsais from 18 provinces and cities, including Shanghai, Liaoning, Jiangsu and Zhejiang, were displayed in the exhibition. Among them are bonsais from eight traditional schools, including the Lingnan, Chuan and Su schools, and bonsais made in popular styles.

Rugao has been named "Jiangsu's Famous Historical and Cultural City" and "China's Capital of Bonsai".
