Nantong enterprises secure big orders at Canton Fair

More than 400 enterprises from Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, participated in the ongoing 133rd China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, which is being held in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, from April 15 to May 5.

They set up over 600 booths to showcase sporting goods, hardware, textiles, clothes, and protective equipment and many of them reaped a bumper harvest on the first day of the fair.

Jiangsu Anchor Tools Co Ltd, which has attended the event since 2008, attracted numerous visitors to its booths with new products and designs and secured orders valued at more than $2 million on the opening day.

Another Nantong exhibitor, Jiangsu Sesame Tools Co Ltd, received orders worth nearly $500,000 from Cambodia, Jordan, and Spain as well as expressions of intention to place further orders valued at $3 million from these countries.

The Canton Fair is held twice a year in Guangzhou. A total of 370,000 offline visits were registered on the first day of its 133rd session, with 67,000 of those from foreign vendors and buyers, according to the organizers.

The fair also has in place online services for product promotion and matching and business negotiations, enabling both Chinese and international businesses to land orders remotely.
