The 5th "MLily Pressure Relieving Mattress" Cup World Go Open Tournament kicked off on March 22 in Rugao, a county-level city of Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province.

In the preliminary round of the tournament, 298 go players signed up for the competition, including a number of well-known players - Ke Jie, Fan Tingyu, Tang Weixing, Dang Yifei and Wang Xinghao.

The qualifying competition in China was divided into 23 groups, including 19 men's professional groups, two women's professional groups, and two amateur groups. The first-place winner in each group will move on to the next stage.

The domestic qualifier will continue until March 26. Competitions for the top 64, 32, and 16 players will be held in Rugao from Aug 1 to 7 this year, and the top 8 will be determined at that time.
