Haimen eyes greater high-quality development

Authorities in Haimen district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province have rolled out a series of measures to bolster its high-quality development.
Measures include attracting more investments, being involved in the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region and optimizing its business environment.
In terms of investment, the district aims to secure 60 projects with an investment of 500 million yuan ($72.7 million) each this year. Authorities have made a negative list, a service list and a responsibility list to make sure the construction of 30 of these projects can begin within this year.
Authorities are also making efforts to expedite the construction of the Haimen-Taicang Yangtze River Tunnel, which will play a significant role in involving Haimen in the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region.
In addition, authorities have been striving to optimize its industrial structures and channeled more resources towards developing its pillar industries - advanced metal materials, biomedicine, high-end equipment manufacturing, new-generation information technology and new energy.
Authorities will also sustain efforts to improve the business environment through means such as streamlining approval procedures.
