Nantong residents' disposable income up 4.7%

The per capita disposable income of Nantong residents was 49,093 yuan ($7,221) in 2022, up 4.7 percent from the previous year, according to the Nantong investigation team of the National Bureau of Statistics.
The per capita disposable income of the city's urban residents was 59,605 yuan, up 4 percent year-on-year, while that of rural residents reached 30,819 yuan, an increase of 5.8 percent year-on-year.
Per capita consumption expenditure was 30,958 yuan in the past year, a year-on-year uptick of 4.2 percent.
The per capita consumption expenditure of urban residents was 36,389 yuan, an increase of 3.1 percent, while that of rural residents was 21,515 yuan, a rise of 6.5 percent.
The top three targets of consumption were food, tobacco and alcohol, housing, and traffic and communication, with 9,149 yuan, 7,165 yuan and 4,507 yuan spent on average annually, up 6.6 percent, 9.1 percent and 2.9 percent, respectively.
