As soothing music wafted in the air, Zhang Min graciously grabbed a handful of fine sand and sprinkled it onto a drawing board.
In the wake of her moving fingers, the random sand quickly turned into stars, flowers, floating clouds, and mist.
Sand painting uses sand, light and shadow to present a visual feast.
Talking about her sand paintings, Zhang said she believes that it is destiny, as she was attracted by the art the moment she saw the creation of a sand painting, which included not only painting, but also music and storytelling.

Zhang then started learning how to paint with sand, and a month later she created her first sand painting. Through hard work and talent, Zhang earned a name for herself in sand painting circles.
Zhang cares more about the affection and spirit than the technical craft of her creations, each of which records loving and touching moments.
Zhang noted that sand painting is a kind of language and it helps her express her emotions.
She also believes that the creation process is more important than the result. She thus only records her creations through video and then rubs them out of existence.
