A drooping willow bonsai exhibit in the center of the exhibition hall was created by Wang Rusheng, vice-chairman of the Chinese Bonsai Artists Association.
Wang said that he was inspired by the scenic views along the Haohe River, one of the best-protected ancient moats in China, that he wanted to embody the concept of a green home through the work and that it is an innovative Nantong-style bonsai.

Mainly made from the yacca tree, the Nantong-style bonsai features short branches and closely woven leaf buds and is not easily deformed. They are usually seen at national reception venues, including the Zhongnanhai leadership compound and the Great Hall of the People.
The exhibition will run until Nov 5 and visitors can make reservations by following the official WeChat account of the Nantong Langshan Forest Park (ntlsfjmsq).
