The Haimen Sports Center located in the Haimen Economic Development Zone of Haimen district in Nantong is expected to be put into operation in November, local media reported on Oct 22.

The Haimen Sports Center is composed of stadiums, gymnasiums, exhibition centers and related supporting rooms. It covers an area of 101,862 square meters and costs 650 million yuan ($89.92 million).

The west area of the venue covers more than 14,000 sq m, which can accommodate 10,095 audience members. Facilities such as a 400-meter circular runway and a natural turf standard football field were built to meet the residents' leisure and fitness needs, as well as for hosting large-scale sporting events. The large LED electronic screen in the venue can air live broadcasts of the event.

Facilities including a ball games hall, ball training hall, standard swimming pool, swimming training pool and children's swimming pool have been set up in the east area of the venue.
