The platform for offshore wind power construction has a lifting capacity of 1,600 metric tons, can work at depths of 70 meters, and is equipped with dynamic positioning capabilities.
It was built for Jinfeng Offshore Engineering Co Ltd to realize integrated transport from the wharf to the construction site, offshore wind power installation work and assembly work on the deck.
The contractor, the Haimen base of China Merchants Industry Holding Co Ltd, is engaged in high end marine engineering and luxury cruise ship construction. It currently focuses on the development of high-end, green and technological products such as small and medium-sized luxury cruise ships, offshore floating production devices, offshore storage and offloading devices, and wind power operation and maintenance vessels.
The multipurpose ship for offshore wind power construction, the first of its kind in China that can function both as a freight vessel and a hoister, was built by the base.
