The second Nantong Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for High-end Talents Overseas was launched in Chongchuan district of Nantong, East China’s Jiangsu province on July 30.

The winning projects in the competition will be supported by a series of favorable policies.

The competition focuses on nine advanced manufacturing industries that are crucial to Nantong’s high-quality development. They include the high-value textile, marine engineering, functional material, electronic information, intelligent equipment, motor vehicle and auto parts, biomedicine, aerospace engineering and new energy industries.

The judges of the competition consist of domestic and foreign industry experts, scholars, executives of listed enterprises and investors from well-known investment institutions. After the initial evaluation, 10 outstanding projects will be selected to enter the finals in October.

Authorities have in recent years been updating talent introduction policies to drive the city’s development. The competition, which provides a service platform and incubators for entrepreneurs, aims to attract overseas talents to start businesses in Nantong and boost the high-quality development of Nantong.
