Gems of Rugao Museum
To mark International Museum Day, which falls on May 18 this year, Rugao Museum in Rugao, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province held a series of online and offline exhibitions featuring porcelains, literatures and local culture, local media reported on May 18.
Here are some of the artifacts found in Rugao Museum.
Duan inkstone

The Duan inkstone is one of the highlights of the collection of the Rugao Museum. The inkstone, which belongs to the owner of Rugao Shuihui Garden, shines a light on the relationship between inkstone carving art, history and culture in the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911). In 2010, the inkstone was identified as a national second-class cultural relic.
Lotus-shaped cup

The lotus-shaped cup has a small hole at the bottom that is connected to the leaf stem, which is used as a straw. This cup has great historical and artistic value and is important to the study of social history in the late Qing Dynasty.
Powder box

This powder box was unearthed from the tomb of the Wang family, a distinguished household in Rugao during the Northern Song Dynasty. The artifact highlights the craftsmanship of porcelain made during the Northern Song Dynasty.
