Easy-to-use sampling stations are widely regarded as being important means to carry out normalized nucleic acid tests in China.

The county-level city of Hai'an – administered by Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province – took such elements as population density, service radiuses and transport convenience into account, in order to build 20 easy-to-use sampling stations distributed at nine venues there.

At present, the stations have all been completed and started operating.

"It took only two minutes to finish the process of sampling – from queuing, checking out the health code to information registration and taking a test," said a citizen, who took a test at the station set up in Pingqiao village east square in Hai'an on May 9. "It's so convenient that we can take a test when going for a walk."

The new cabin in Pingqiao village for nucleic acid sampling covers some 6 square meters, with two windows – one for information registration and the other for sampling. Though small, it is well equipped with an air conditioner, a positive pressure air system and an ultraviolet radiator.

After the positive pressure air system in turned on, the air pressure inside the cabin will be higher than the outside, which will effectively prohibit outside air flowing in and guarantee the safety of medical staff.

"From design to equipment deployment, the cabin is friendly to users, offers us a shelter from rain and heat and enables us to work for citizens in a more comfortable environment," said He Guangping, who works at the station.
