Answering the call to rally to Shanghai's support, the Linsen Logistics Group – based in the Chongchuan district of Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province – set up a special team, dedicated to transporting Nantong's fresh vegetables to that city.
From April 12, Linsen Logistics' trucks began shipping 250,000 vegetable packs to the Pudong New Area in East China's Shanghai city every day, for five consecutive days.
Ding Jianxin, an experienced driver at Linsen Logistics, is one of the team who will undertake the special transport assignment.
"To be honest, I have concerns in my heart and my family is worried, but faced with the current severe epidemic, it is our responsibility to take up this delivery task," Ding said.
Because of Shanghai's COVID-19 epidemic situation, the truck drivers who return to Nantong will have a "*" mark placed on their digital travel record. In order to reduce the risk of the epidemic spreading, the Xingfu sub-district in Nantong – where Linsen's logistics park is located – opened a special area for the drivers with the mark to park their vehicles.
The labor union of Xingfu sub-district also gave anti-epidemic supplies and daily necessities to these drivers and assigned special personnel to disinfect the trucks.
