Zhouzhuang community improves lives of residents
Zhouzhuang residential community in Jiang'an town, Rugao, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has been trying to improve the lives of its residents by raising incomes and improving the environment.

In recent years, the community has been focusing on the silkworm breeding and mulberry growing industry. In 2021, 856 silkworm raisers saw a net income of more than 11 million yuan ($1.72 million).
The online and offline sales revenue of 63 handmade silk reeling and silk quilt processing enterprises exceeded 8 million yuan.
In addition, the community has promoted the growing of mulberry, dragon fruit, cherry and other fruits to create a fruit-picking industry.
Meanwhile, the community has been working to build infrastructure and restore the environment. In 2021, 12 rivers were renovated, 1,500 meters of revetment was built, 1.5 kilometers of waterfront landscape belts were constructed, 3.5 km of rural roads were upgraded and 360 meters of footpaths were added.
