​Rugao native receives letter from Intl Olympic Committee

Wu Aihua, a native of Rugao, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province recently received a letter from Thomas Bach, president of International Olympic Committee (IOC).

In the letter, Bach expressed his appreciation of Wu's contributions to promoting communication between Olympic and Chinese cultures.

Wu is the leader of the "Cheer for the Olympics" program that is organized by the IOC to integrate Chinese culture with Olympic culture.

The exhibitions featuring works by "Cheer for the Olympics" artists at The Olympic Museum in Lausanne have been well-received, wrote Bach.

Bach also expressed hope that Wu will continue to hold cultural activities to promote the Olympics spirit at the next Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.

The "Cheer for the Olympics" program was held at the Anding Primary School in Rugao on Oct 12 last year. During the event, many Olympic champions and well-known artists took part in public welfare activities including roller skating lessons, wushu lessons, basketball lessons and art lessons for students.
