The Nantong Center for Disease Control and Prevention on Feb 10 released a notice regarding migrant workers returning to Nantong after the Spring Festival holiday.

The notice was released in light of the recent outbreak in Heihe, Heilongjiang province, and Baise, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. On Feb 10, an asymptomatic COVID-19 case was reported in Suzhou, Jiangsu. Authorities have said that there is a risk of spillover to other regions.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the center has advised migrant workers to learn about the latest pandemic prevention and control measures from their companies and residential communities before returning to Nantong.

The center also reiterated that those who have traveled to other provinces within the last 14 days must test negative for the virus within 48 hours before their departure. They must also take a nucleic acid test within 24 hours after their arrival in Nantong.

After arriving in Nantong, domestic travelers are required to monitor their health for 14 days. Should symptoms such as fever, dry cough, fatigue, sore throat, hyposmia, hypogeusia, and diarrhea occur, they should visit the nearest fever clinic as soon as possible and declare their travel history to the doctor.

The center has also reminded travelers to wear face masks properly, maintain social distancing, wash their hands frequently, and avoid gathering while on public transportation.

The center also suggested people to take COVID-19 vaccine shot and those who already received two doses of inactivated vaccine and one dose of adenovirus vector vaccine for six months to take a booster shot.
