Nantong Xingdong International Airport in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, will resume flights to Hanzhong, a city in Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on Dec 31, local media reported on Dec 22.

The flight, operated by Kunming Airlines, will depart from Nantong at 2:30 pm and arrive in Hanzhong at 5:00 pm. The return flight will depart Hanzhong at 5:45 pm and arrive in Nantong at 7:50 pm.

Renowned as one of the 10 most beautiful cities in China, Hanzhong has numerous scenic spots and historical sites, including the Sanyan Irrigation System, which was listed as a world heritage site in 2017, and inscriptions on cliffs.

In 2016, Nantong launched a pairing-assistance program to aid the development of Hanzhong. Two years later, Nantong airport launched its first flight to the city.

In 2020, during the COVID-19 outbreak in China, Nantong airport provided charted airplanes that transported workers back to Hanzhong, ensuring the timely resumption of production activities.
